FAQ's

Chinnon is a light-weight, semi sheer, flowy fabric used to make a multitude of fabrics such as lehengas, dresses, sarees etc. Though the fabric is usually plain it can be beautified with embroidery work and detailing to make it look more aesthetic and ethnic. Chinnon is made from rayon, polyester filament yarn or both. The fabric stands out for its subtle sheen; textured appearance and graceful fall making it look charming and timeless, ensuring a perfect drape.

Chinnon makes for a great choice as a party wear as it looks elegant and classy, has a characteristic fall, drapes gracefully and looks beautiful in any form of outfit be it a saree or an evening gown.

Chinnon has a shiny texture, giving it a subtle yet classy glossy appearance and a perfect pick for festive as well as wedding wear.

Chinnon can be dyed but the dye uptake depends upon the composition of the fabric. If it is predominantly made from Rayon, then it takes up the dye better as compared to a blended or a synthetic base.

The best method to wash a Chinnon fabric is gentle hand wash with mild detergent and drying it without twisting. You may consider a gentle machine wash with cold water without tumble dry if the fabric is plain. Also, for ironing use a low temperature to prevent damage to the fabric.
